Police Officer Jaimie Cox Fundraiser

This fundraiser is now closed. A total of  $13,607.79 was raised. In memory of Officer Jaimie Cox, 100% of the profits from this fundraiser will be donated to the funds selected by the sister of Officer Jaimie Cox. 50% of profits will be donated to help victims of sexual and domestic abuse in Illinois, the Zacharias Sexual Abuse Center, and 50% of profits will be donated to help provide services for Veterans suffering from PTSD, Mission 22. 

Police Officer Jaimie Cox was killed during a traffic stop near the intersection of East State Street and Dawn Avenue at approximately 1:00 am.

The vehicle attempted to flee during the incident and possibly dragged Officer Cox before crashing two blocks away from the initial incident. Despite suffering critical injuries, Officer Cox was able to call for assistance. Responding officers found him on the ground near the crash scene. He was transported to a local hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.

The driver of the vehicle that fled was found deceased in the vehicle.

Officer Cox had served with the Rockford Police Department for one year and had previously served with the Illinois Department of Natural Resources - Division of Law Enforcement.
